A modern hotel with great tradition

1954 − a new hotel emerges

The Hotel du Commerce is built right next to Messe Basel and it is still run today by representatives of its owners, the Weibel family.

1999− the first phase of renovation

The new «Patio» annex in the hotel's inner courtyard is officially opened. The spacious Patio rooms are all air conditioned, offering our guests even more comfort. The hotel lobby, the hotel corridors, and the breakfast room are also refurbished, and the hotel's own underground car park is opened.

2002/3 − second phase of renovation

The courtyard rooms and the rooms on the fifth floor are remodelled into state-of-the art hotel rooms.

After 50 years of providing hospitality, the Weibel family hands over the hotel keys to a younger generation. Raffaella Pedrazzetti Bucher, the great-niece of Werner Weibel, and her husband Patrik Bucher uphold the great tradition of the Hotel du Commerce by offering guests a friendly, personal and family atmosphere.

In a complete renovation our Business and Grandlit rooms arose. They are fusrnished with air conditioning, flat screen TV's and highspeed internet.

After the reconstruction of the restaurant "Hongkong" there are now 9 additional, most modernly furnished rooms, a new breakfast room located on the ground floor as well as a meeting room. Furthermore the fair and event restaurant "Rôtisserie duc" and the "Wine lounge pur" open their doors.
